My research aims at understanding interactions among microorganisms in different terrestrial and aquatic habitats with a specific focus on groundwater. I am interested in how microbes interact via their activities in biogeochemical cycles, such as the coupling of aerobic and anaerobic nitrogen transformations. I am also looking into how nitrogen cycling microorganisms are affected by other microorganisms in symbiotic or parasitic relationships.
