I am fascinated by the ecology of host-associated microbiomes and how host-microorganism interactions influence host physiology. My personal research goal is to integrate empirical and mechanistic approaches to uncover the diversity and functional implications of these complex associations across various natural systems. Previously, I explored microbial community assembly processes in the phyllosphere. Currently, my work focuses on the vampiristic interactions between Candidate Phyla Radiation (CPR) bacteria and their hosts in a newly cultivated groundwater system.
