Postdoctoral Researcher in Microbial Ecology
The Aquatic Geomicrobiology Group at Friedrich Schiller University Jena is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Microbial Ecology, supervised by Dr. Martina Herrmann, starting January 1, 2026. The position is part of the iDiv-funded iBarc Initiative – Integrating molecular approaches to explore biodiversity, in collaboration with partners from Jena, Leipzig, and Halle.
The postdoc will contribute to developing and optimizing metabarcoding pipelines, support iDiv researchers in molecular and statistical analyses, and foster collaboration across the iBarc network.
Location: Institute of Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution, Jena
Position: Part-time (50%), initially limited to 2 years, with possible extension
