Information

Trained as geoecologist (hydrology, geochemistry, soil science), I enjoy working at the interface of microbial ecology and hydrobiogeochemistry. I have a strong background in microbial physiology of anaerobic microorganisms, degradation of complex organic matter, and biogeochemical processes, especially the iron cycle. The professorship on Aquatic Geomicrobiology allows me to bridge biosphere and geosphere research with a focus on aquatic habitats.
