  • Brief Biography

    Elisabeth Müller studied biology (Diploma) at the Friedrich Schiller University, majoring in ecology, botany and biochemistry. She has worked as a doctoral student since January 2021 on the DFG project "Ernst Haeckel as a Botanist - Reconstruction and Contextualization", an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Chair of Special Botany and, the Chair of History and Philosophy of Science at the Ernst-Haeckel-Haus at Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

  • Research interests

    Elisabeth Müller’s research interests are in the history of botany in the 19th century. The focus of her current project is Ernst Haeckel’s botanical activities during his childhood and youth, the significance of botanical activities for Haeckel’s later works in life, and his impact on the history of botany.
