Megha joined our team on February 1, 2026 as a doctoral student of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse”. Welcome, Megha, and we hope you enjoy your work!
On November 27, 2025, Melvin successfully defended his doctoral thesis. He managed the traditional flower toss without any problems, with one small exception: Melvin opted for a flower wreath. We wish Melvin all the best and every success for the future.
As a highlight at the end of 2025, we decided to take a trip to the botanical garden. After a quick bite to eat, we visited the greenhouses and strolled through the Christmas market. We ended the evening with music and conversation.
On June 30, 2025, we took a field trip to the Ilm River in Weimar. We visited Ilmpark and discovered a wide variety of park architectures.
We welcome Dr. Inam Ul Haq and Dr. Xiaoqi Yang in our team. Inam supports us as a research assistant in teaching and research. Xiaoqi joins us with a postdoctoral scholarship. We wish them both fun and success.
Trang successfully defended her doctoral thesis on Thursday, 29.08.2024. Of course, she went to the market afterwards for the traditional flower toss over the hemp sword. All the best Trang and enjoy everything you have planned.

Chulin Li has been part of our team since November 1st, 2023. She has a doctoral scholarship and will be with us at the institute for 4 years. We wish her much success in her research and look forward to a good collaboration.
Anxhela Rredhi successfully defended her doctoral thesis on Monday, September 25th, 2023. Of course, afterwards she also went to the market to throw flowers over the Hanfried sword. We congratulate her and wish Anxhi all the best and continued success for the future.
Yu Hou successfully defended her doctoral thesis on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023. This was followed by the traditional throwing of flowers over the Hanfried sword at the market. We congratulate her and wish Yu all the best for the future and continued success.
In the best weather, we treated ourselves to a small barbecue this summer after work. In addition to delicacies from the grill, salads and desserts from all over the world, we found time for conversation and were entertained with music. An allround successful end to the day.
